FLORIDA SUPREME COURT Justice Alan Lawson and his wife, Julie Carlton Lawson, recently traveled to Honduras to do volunteer work along with other Florida judges and lawyers. The group built homes for two families who lost their dwellings in a fire about five months ago and lacked the means of replacing them. Among this volunteer group were Judges Lisa Munyon, Julie O’Kane, Steve Jewett, and Mike Murphy, all from the Orlando-area courts in Florida’s Ninth Circuit. Lawyers helping in the project include Board of Governors member Scott Westheimer of Sarasota, Jim Keenan of Jacksonville, and Steve Metz of Tallahassee.
